2008 SCHEDULE CHANGES

ATTENTION: THE AMATEUR PORTION OF THE VERNON DOWNS RACE HAS BEEN CANCELED

The Electric City Riders season opener scheduled for May 4 has been TENTATIVELY postponed until June 22 due to track maintenance. The June 1st race has also been postponed as BUDDY FORD PRODUCTIONS is currently seeking to run an amateur event at the Vernon Downs Raceway (Mile track) in Verona, NY on that same date. It would be the only Mile event held in NY and we wanted District 3 members to have the opportunity to participate without a conflict of schedule. This will follow the AMA Grand National Twins race scheduled for Saturday evening, May 31. Please check BUDDY FORD PRODUCTIONS website www.nydirttrack.com for confirmation of classes.

Any updates and/or changes in our schedule will be posted here as they occur.

2008 Dirt Track Rules

New 2008 rule: Dirt track style tires must be used on the rear tire of all bikes over 150cc. This applies to the TT classes as well. Lites and Open. There will be no rear knobbies allowed. Why? A new track surface has been laid down along with some small changes to the track. This is to benefit the quality of racing and keeping true to "Flat Track" racing. This small change will be easily negotiated for the MX bikes. There are several 19" tires available for very reasonable prices that will be allowed. Do not consider this a negative change. In fact most will find the racing better as well as the surface consistency. If you have any questions on what tires can be used or need suggestions you can call Jim at Pro Cycles in Clifton Park. (518) 373-0151 He will help you find what you need for this change. All bikes 150cc and under will not be affected by this change.

AMA Annual membership $40.00

ALL MINORS MUST HAVE A NOTARIZED PERMISSION SLIP FROM BOTH PARENTS

CLUB OFFICIALS ONLY ON THE TRACK

REGISTRATION: 9:00 - 11:00

ENTRY FEE: $30.00 per class

RIDERS MEETING: 11:00 -11:15
